Rising Health advocate advances heart disease research
Irene Pollin, who lost two children because of congenital heart defects, has made a $10 million gift to the Ciccarone Center for the Prevention of Heart Disease. Her donation also establishes the Kenneth Jay Pollin Professorship in Cardiology. Roger S. Blumenthal, A&S '81, was recently installed as the inaugural chair holder.
Parents Fund Surpasses $1 Million/Year
For the first time in its history, the Johns Hopkins Parents Fund in FY 2013 received more than $1 million in contributions. Parent volunteers like Hopkins Parents Council co-chairs Ann Gordon and Alan Lefkof help make Hopkins Parents Programs succeed.
