SAIS New York Alumni Book Discussion with Will Bardenwerper '10

Please join the SAIS New York Alumni Club for an evening of interesting dialogue with Will Bardenwerper ’10 who will lead a discussion on his new book, “The Prisoner in His Palace”,   recently included in both the NY Post and Military Times lists of Best Books of 2017. We will explore the journey of twelve young American soldiers who in the summer of 2006 had to guard Iraq's notorious leader in the months leading to his execution, as well as an intimate portrait of two Saddam’s co-existing in one person: the defiant tyrant who uses torture and murder as tools, and a shrewd but contemplative prisoner in the face of looming death. The book discussion will take place at Thomson Reuters, 3 Times Square, 7F, Empire Room. Space is limited. Valerie Gadala-Maria ‘13 and Sam Lee ’13 will be there to welcome you.
