Join the 2019 Varkey Foundation Global Teacher Prize Winner, Peter Tabichi, in a conversation about his beliefs in his students and his innovative and passionate pedagogical approaches and how they resulted in his students competing and winning national science competitions and participating in international ones, too.

You will hear about Peter’s work at Keriko School, in response to the ethnic violence that engulfed Kenya earlier this decade, he established a Peace Club that brought people in his local communities together, and in addition given the famine and climatic conditions the province he is in, he has set up a program to teach local farmers about drought resistant crops, as a way of tackling food insecurity issues.

A reception for JHU alumni will follow at 6:15pm with Dean Christopher Morphew from the School of Education at City Tap House Dupont. We will be offering beer, wine and light hors d'oeuvres.
