The decriminalization and legalization of cannabis has been a high-speed train over the past eight years. Ms. Amy McDougal (Peabody '94) will be sharing her perspective as an attorney in the cannabis industry on the impact of legalization thus far, how legalization of cannabis impacts corporate operations and compliance, how the friction in federal and state law is unprecedented and both what we can learn from the dichotomy and how it may be resolved to increase patient access to medical marijuana. She will cover the legal landscape of medical marijuana currently, the projected changes in the months and years to come, the impact of the legalization of hemp, and how we can expect to see the marketplace morph due to the introduction of cannabis-based products.
