Our 15-day journey begins in Croatia’s gracious capital Zagreb. Visit historic Old Town as well as the colorful Dolac open-air market. Spend a full afternoon touring Plitvice Lakes National Park, famed for its dramatic string of 16 turquoise-colored lakes, tumbling waterfalls, and dramatic karst formations. Continue to Dubrovnik, the world’s largest UNESCO conservation site, and enjoy a walking tour of Old Town with its distinctive medieval architecture. Visit the island of Hvar, whose enticing medieval town is situated on one of the most beautiful islands along the Adriatic coast. Head north along the central Dalmatian coast and spend one night in Split. Tour the ruins of 3rd-century Diocletian’s Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Continue to Opatija, “the jewel of the Adriatic,” where Habsburg royalty once vacationed. Explore the scenic Istrian Peninsula, which has a fascinating history and diverse cultural roots, as well as a distinctly Mediterranean atmosphere. Have lunch at an Italian farmhouse en route to the final stop on our Dalmatian adventure, Venice. Enjoy a walking tour of this treasured city which always delights even the most seasoned traveler.
