Sunday, April 6: Kick-Off

Kick off Step Up Week at our launch party on the Beach! Stop by our Step Up photo booth to capture your JHU spirit and thank donors for their impact on the student experience, and follow our Instagram photo stream at #JHUStepUp. Grab a snack and Step Up T-shirt, and enjoy ice cream courtesy of The HOP’s First Sunday Sundaes!
Monday, April 7: Rise and Shine Breakfast
9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., Mattin Center CourtyardRain Location: BLC Tyler Terrace
Grab a quick breakfast snack to sustain you for an early morning of class registration, and learn how students across JHU are impacted by receiving scholarships, fellowships, and more from generous donors who care about you making the most of your time at Hopkins.
Tuesday, April 8: Study Break
8:00 - 10:00 p.m., Brody Learning Commons, Cafe Q & Tyler TerraceTake a break from the books and energize with a free Stressbusters massage and coffee from the Daily Grind. Learn about the origins of the Sheridan Libraries, resources you’re able to use daily thanks to the generosity of donors!
Wednesday, April 9: Smoothies for Service & Totes for Tots
11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., The BeachRain Location: Tyler Terrace
Johns Hopkins undergrads logged a whopping 51,744 hours of community service in Fall 2013. Cheers to you! In honor of this collective contribution, join friends and classmates on the beach for a tropical treat, and lend a hand as we complete a service project to assemble comfort bags for young patients and their families at the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center. This event is sponsored in part by the Johns Hopkins Alumni Association.
Thursday, April 10: Thankful Thursday
12:00 - 2:00 p.m., Reunion Tent on Decker QuadSaying thank you is easy to do. Tuition alone covers only 72% of the cost of your education. Generous donations from JHU alumni, parents, and friends support the remaining 28%. Take a moment to write a thank-you note to a young alumni donor who has contributed to enhancing your time at Hopkins. Chipotle burritos provided while supplies last.
Friday, April 11: Pigs 'N Blankets
1:00 - 3:00 p.m., Freshman QuadRain Location: Glass Pavilion
Whom will your spare change impact? Find out which area of JHU will receive the total amount of change collected at Step Up week events: Scholarships/Financial Aid, Undergraduate Research, Study Abroad, Capital Projects (Student Center), Blue Jays Unlimited, or Student Programming. The area that receives the most change throughout the week will receive the combined total as a philanthropic donation from Step Up week. Take your chance at breaking open a pig piñata revealing the answer and showering the crowd in treats. Enjoy food, fun, and special prizes for the first 50 attendees wearing their Step Up T-shirts.
Saturday, April 12: Homecoming Rally & Pre-Game BBQ
11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., Freshman QuadRain Location: FFC
Come hungry, and bring your Blue Jay spirit! Stop by to grab a free lunch and Homecoming giveaway before watching the Hopkins men’s lacrosse team take on Maryland. Go Hop! This event is sponsored in part by the Parents Fund.
