Thank you for your interest in supporting Johns Hopkins through a gift of securities. We have gathered information that can help you facilitate a gift of stock to JHU. Please take a moment to read through the materials in this section to ensure that your stock transfer happens in a timely and accurate way.
Before You Initiate Your Gift 
Before making a gift of securities, you should make three key decisions:

1. How will I give?

3. Where will I give?
You should decide what part of Johns Hopkins you wish to benefit from your gift. You may specify a division or department, a doctor, a particular research area, or some other designation. Contact us for guidance on making a designation.

To begin the process of making a gift of securities, please fill out and submit the Online Notification Form. This form informs key staff members at Johns Hopkins University of your intent to make a gift of securities, and gives us vital information to follow up on your intent.

Making a Gift of Securities to Johns Hopkins 

  1. Click here to complete our Online Notification Form to let us know about your plans. When you submit the form, you'll see a customized sample letter of instruction to use for initiating your gift with your broker.
  2. Contact your broker to learn about procedures for transfer.
  3. Send the letter of instruction to your broker according to his or her guidelines.
  4. Your broker completes the transaction with the Johns Hopkins broker that you selected.
  5. Your gift is complete
