Italy Club
Did you know that more than 300 alumni of Johns Hopkins live in Italy? Most of us are graduates of SAIS or the Bologna Center, although all Johns Hopkins divisions—from Nursing to Peabody to Engineering—are represented. Of course, there's one thing we all share: a connection to Johns Hopkins.
Our chapter re-launched in 2001, and our events have quickly attracted a diverse collection of alumni. We have a couple of formal activities per year and share them with fellow alumni from Bocconi, Columbia, Harvard, HEC, INSEAD, London Business School, MIT, and Wharton, who in turn share their events with us. All are publicized in our monthly newsletter called ACE (Alumni Chapter Events).
Our JHU meetings have featured two directors of the Bologna Center, the president of the Tax-Free World Association, the head of Turin's Olympic Organizing Committee, the head of ISPI (Italian Institute of Political Science), a noted Italian television commentator, several professors, former diplomats, Italy's leading terrorism expert, a BC/DC graduate who is the top lawyer at the WTO, and a SAIS alumnus who is currently number three at the US State Department. If you are moving to Milan, or if you are traveling to Milan, get in touch and we will let you know what's happening here when you come.
